Georgie Sam

Georgie Sam is the Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO) at Astrana Health, where he leads the company’s enterprise-wide data, analytics, and AI strategy and execution. A visionary technology executive with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare data and analytics space, Georgie has a proven track record of building transformative cloud native data and AI solutions that improve clinical and financial outcomes, optimize operations, and enhance experiences for patients and providers.

Throughout his career, Georgie has earned a reputation as a data and analytics leader known for turning complex challenges into scalable, high-impact innovations — specifically for healthcare. He has successfully led the design and implementation of enterprise platforms that harness data and AI to power actionable insights, enable smarter decision-making, and drive meaningful results across care delivery, population health management, and digital transformation.

Prior to joining Astrana Health, Georgie served as Senior Vice President of Data & Technology at Alignment Healthcare. In this role, he was responsible for building the company’s end to end data and analytics ecosystem – including enterprise data strategy, cloud-based platforms, business intelligence, data governance, and modern data architecture. He played a pivotal role in Alignment’s growth from a startup to a leading Medicare Advantage plan and was instrumental in its successful IPO.

Georgie holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu, India, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India.

Glenn Sobotka

Glenn brings over 25 years of accounting and finance experience across various business environments.  For the past six years, he has worked in healthcare, serving as CFO at Arkos Health and CAO at both Carbon Health and Agilon Health, where he successfully guided the accounting team through their IPO. Glenn holds a BBA in Accounting from The College of William and Mary, an MBA from The George Washington University, and is a CPA licensed in Virginia. He resides in Newport Beach with his wife and three children.

Edgar Garrobo

Edgar Garrobo is the Vice President of Information Security (CISO) at Astrana Health, leading the company’s cybersecurity strategy to protect critical data and systems in the healthcare sector.

With over 20 years of experience, Edgar is an expert in technology and security management across diverse industries.

Prior to Astrana Health, Edgar held key roles, including Director of Information Technology at DoubleLine Capital Group, where he implemented security frameworks to protect sensitive financial data. At Viking, he managed global security strategies to safeguard customer and operational data in the cruise hospitality sector as Viking’s Vice President of Information Technology. He also served as a fractional CISO, providing strategic guidance to various organizations.

Recognized for his hands-on approach and technical expertise, Edgar consistently improves risk management and compliance. He actively contributes to the cybersecurity community, sharing insights on emerging threats.

Edgar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology and Operations Management from California Polytechnical University Pomona.

Boon Chen

Boon Chen is Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, where he leads Astrana Health’s digital innovation transformation.

Boon Chen is an accomplished technology executive with an extensive background in engineering, product leadership, and digital transformation. With a career spanning over two decades, Boon demonstrates a commitment to enhancing operational performance and enriching the end-user experience. Passionate about team development, Boon strives to motivate and build cohesive, high-performing teams across all levels. Prior to Astrana Health, Boon held the position of Senior Vice President of Engineering at Summit Health where he was responsible for spearheading the company’s technological evolution. While at Summit health, he led the development of a comprehensive digital care model strategy, leveraging mobile-first capabilities to enhance patient care initiatives significantly. Boon holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from Xavier University.

Boon currently resides in New York City.

Jaime Melkonoff, MBA

Jaime Melkonoff is President, AstranaCare of Texas, where she leads Astrana Health’s Texas operations.

Born and raised in Arizona, Jaime’s professional career in health care started over 25 years ago processing claims for a Medicaid plan in Arizona. Her journey in healthcare advanced over time to additional roles and responsibilities including leading claims, IT, customer service, referral, provider network, grievances/appeals, operational oversight/audit, project management and other departments at health plans like CalOptima, Molina and Health Choice Arizona, serving as COO with multiple organizations and managing operations in multiple regions across the country. Prior to joining Astrana Health, Jaime was working at Prospect Medical Systems as the business development and strategy leader for the IPA/MSO where she led several inorganic and organic growth strategies that doubled the size of the membership in her tenure.

Jaime received her MBA from Brandman University through Chapman University’s master’s program and Bachelor’s degree in Public Agency Service from Northern Arizona University (cum laude graduate).

Rita Pew, MBA

Rita Pew is the Chief People Officer at Astrana Health, where she leads the company’s HR and people operations, including areas such as change management, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development.

Before joining Astrana, Rita spent a decade at DaVita, serving in various leadership roles focused on advancing the company’s Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) strategy in partnership with nephrologists. She brings a uniquely versatile background through a blend of operational and people experience across M&A integration, MSO operations, system implementations, and data analytics—applying a hands-on, practical approach to aligning people strategies with business goals.

Rita holds an MBA from UCLA and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Paul Van Duine, MBA

Paul Van Duine joined Astrana Health, formerly known as ApolloMed, in October of 2021 as Senior Vice President of Payer Relations and Contracting. In this role, Paul leads health plan and provider contracting, while enhancing payer and provider relationships to create strategic business partnerships. Paul also leads operational enhancements in areas such as delegation oversight, provider configuration and data accuracy, all important functions in the payer relationship.  

Paul has thirty years of managed care industry experience in Contracting, Provider Relations and Operations.  For the four years prior to joining Astrana Health, Paul served as Vice President of Network and Operations for Molina Healthcare of California.  

Paul received his MBA from University of Southern California (USC) Marshall School of Business, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).

Albert Young, MD, MPH

Dr. Albert Young is the Senior Vice President of Health Affairs at Astrana Health, formerly known as ApolloMed. Dr. Young has served as Senior Vice President of Health Affairs since 2024 and previously served as Chief Administrative Officer. Dr. Young received his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency training at Los Angeles County and USC Medical Center. Upon completing his residency training, Dr. Young completed a fellowship in pulmonary medicine. An advocate of general preventive medicine, Dr. Young also obtained a master’s degree in public health from UCLA in 1998.

Jeremy R. Jackson, MD

Dr. Jeremy Jackson joined Astrana Health, formerly ApolloMed, as Chief of Staff in March 2021 and was promoted to Chief Quality Officer in June 2021. In his current role, he spearheads critical areas including quality improvement, risk adjustment, and member experience programs. Bringing over a decade of healthcare industry experience to Astrana Health, Dr. Jackson blends his management consulting expertise with his background as a practicing physician. His previous experience includes a tenure as a Project Leader in the healthcare practice at the Boston Consulting Group.

From 2011 to 2018, Dr. Jackson served in the Department of General Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, where he led postoperative care teams for patients with a wide spectrum of general surgical conditions. Further, he served as Chief Resident in Quality and Patient Safety at the Department of Surgery at the Boston Veterans Affairs Hospital from 2017 to 2018 and as a research fellow focused on Surgical Oncology in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles from 2014 to 2016.

Dr. Jackson obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan Medical School. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Southern California.

Dinesh Kumar, MD

Dr. Dinesh Kumar is the Chief Medical Officer at Astrana Health. Dr. Kumar is a visionary healthcare leader with over 25 years of healthcare experience and has spent his career transforming healthcare for the better, across clinical, provider group, and payer settings. Prior to his appointment as CMO of Astrana Health, Dr. Kumar served as Chief Medical and Chief Operating Officer at Alignment Healthcare. Before that, Dr. Kumar led value-based care and population health efforts as Senior Vice President of Clinical Transformation at DaVita. Prior, he served as Chief Medical Officer of HealthCare Partners within the California market.

Dr. Kumar received his medical degree from the University of Madras and completed his residency in internal medicine at Howard University. He then completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and completed a Health Care Leadership Program at the University of California-San Francisco.
